Bunge and Yara plan to cut down this rainforest in Santa Catarina

We took theses fictures while searching for hawk eagles in the slopes of Serra Geral in Santa Catarina. This area is owned by Bunge anda Yara which plan to explore a phosphate mine. Crested Eagles (Morphnus guianensis), Black Hawk Eagles (Spizaetus tyrannus), Ornate Hawk Eagles are regularly seen in the area. Harpy Eagle (Hapya harpyja) was recorded nearby no long ago and might still live in the region. Associação Montanha Viva holds a legal action against the Bunge and Yara phosphate mine project and needs support from abroad.
